Walks in Lumphanan

I have written about three walks that are associated with Macbeth. Walk 1 takes you to the place of Macbeth's execution - according to local legend. It passes the mound of an ancient castle (now demolished). The mound was constructed about a hundred years after Macbeth's death. Speculatively it may have been a defensive site before that.

The website also provides some historical background information about the times in which Macbeth lived. There is very little about Macbeth in the records. Less than 200 words exist among the three sources in which he is mentioned. The details of his death are mostly conjecture, based upon local legend.
